Financial crisis prompts more calls on long-term care advice
A new dementia unit has been opened at Bupa's Arncliffe Court Nursing and Residential Home.The Paisley Unit is a specialist unit caring for people with dementia, named after Liverpool legend Bob Paisley who was a resident at the home for a number of years.Bob's widow Jessie joined residents and Bupa staff on Friday February 6th to open the unit and plant a tree in his memory.Janet Nixon, home manager at Arncliffe Court, commented: "We've made every effort to ensure that the makeover has achieved the perfect finish and to give our residents a wonderful new home."We are extremely proud of the unit and we are honoured that it will bear the name of such a great man."The refurbished unit will accommodate 30 residents who will benefit from memory boxes, themed rooms and a sensory garden.All of the bedrooms have been refurbished, along with the bathrooms, dining area and lounge.Bupa is investing millions of pounds in its care homes, of which it has more than 300 across the UK.   © Copyright 2009   Long term care insurance: News update: 11/02/2009   Related links Find out more about long term care insurance   What is long term care?   Get a quote for long term care insurance
